Bonnie celebrated her 8 month birthday on Wednesday. She's had a cold for a week now so we didn't party hard. All week she's been showing off her new trick of standing on her own at school and at home. I think she's probably up to at least 10 seconds now.
Reading books has become much easier lately since Bonnie is actually somewhat interested in looking at the pictures. Here Daddy is reading a book Grandma Linda bought. She was really into it!
Exciting for Bonnie but unfortunately for us, she has discovered how to open cabinets and doors. She opens the doors on the entertainment center frequently and today even opened the cabinets in the kitchen. Good thing we bought some extra baby proofing accessories not too long ago because we are going to need them!
Bonnie still continues to be crazed about her walker but has now discovered that even everyday household items can become makeshift walkers. By far her favorite are chairs. It works out well for her since she can push them all along the hardwood floors. Another favorite is her highchair which has wheels so it's extra fun to push around.
We've been working on getting Bonnie to clap and wave. The whole clapping thing hasn't been going too well but she does try to mimic us when we clap but it just ends up with her holding her hands together. Waving on the other hand is going very well. She is able to wave goodbye most of the time when we wave to her. All the other kids in her class wave goodbye so it is super cute when we drop her off in the morning or pick her up in the afternoon because all of them wave in unison.
