We just got back from our first trip to California. Matt attended a conference in Laguna Beach and Bonnie and I decided to tag along. The hotel was right on the beach which Bonnie thought was great. She loved sitting out on the patio and saying "wow" every time a big wave crashed. It was a little too chilly to go for a swim but that didn't stop us from dipping our toes in the water.
On Wednesday Bonnie and I braved the LA traffic and met a friend of mine from graduate school who lives there now. She was nice enough to drive us around all day and show us the sights. We even had a B celebrity sighting (the current The Bachelor) in downtown LA.
After Matt was finished with his conference on Thursday we again braved the LA traffic so that he could see the sights. We drove down Hollywood Blvd.
And saw Darth Vader
We then decided to find Mulholland Drive but instead got lost in the maze of the hills.
Laguna Beach was very pretty but a little rich for our tastes so on Friday we headed south to San Diego. We were amazed at how beautiful San Diego is! The harbor is gorgeous and the city itself is so pretty.
On Saturday we spent most of the day at the San Diego zoo which was really cool. Bonnie had a great time looking at all the animals. Her favorites were the gorilla, panda bear and elephants.
Bonnie did so great on both plane rides and received many compliments from fellow passengers. She has really proved herself to be a good traveler, which is great considering we have quite the adventure planned to Canada this summer!
