All Moved In

We are all moved in and trying hard to get settled. The move went about as good as a move can go. The movers showed up Saturday morning at about 8:30 and were on their way to the house by 10:30 and completely done by 12:30. Our first experience with professional movers was amazing and I can't ever imagine not hiring someone to move us again!

By 3:00 we were done cleaning the apartment and packed up the dogs and left apartment life forever (hopefully!). The maid service I hired did a pretty good job so we were able to focus on unpacking all day Saturday and Sunday without having to worry about cleaning everything.

By Sunday night we had made some good progress on unpacking but when we started back to work this week things started to slow down a bit. Here's our progress so far.

The family room needs the most work but it's slowly coming around. The cable guy came today so now we can start unpacking all the DVDs. We still haven't decided if we want to put the tv in the cubby next to the fireplace or have an entertainment center. Matt suggested having an entertainment center and putting an aquarium in the cubby. If anyone has any suggestions, we are all ears!

The kitchen is pretty much done. It was the first room we tackled and makes life a lot easier now that it is functioning. I wasn't sure if I would like this kitchen but I really love it!

The dining room needs some love and a lot of furniture!

The living room has some chairs and a couple of pictures.

The loft upstairs has some boxes.

The wall color of the spare bathroom is very deceiving in this picture. Instead of the lovely pale yellow in this picture the real wall color is Spongebob Squarepants yellow.

The "skeletons" of one of the spare bedrooms.

A second very blue spare bedroom.

The office which has become a storage room.

Our bedroom which looks pretty pitiful right now. We got rid of all of our bedroom furniture so we're having to improvise for now.

The dogs weren't real happy about moving. Zoe has not completely calmed down and is still refusing to eat without Parmesan cheese on her food. Daisy has made herself at home but all the stairs have taken some getting used to. She's a pro now and goes up and down without asking for help.

Overall we are so happy to be in this house and are excited about furnishing it someday...
