Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

Lately

We've been keeping ourselves quite busy as of late - both in and outside of work.

I've found my inner hockey player so we invited some friends of ours and headed off to Pepsi Center to see the Avs play the Chicago Blackhawks. The Avs had already clinched their spot in the playoffs so it wasn't the best game I've ever seen but still a great time.

Last Saturday we were invited to the Rockies game. We had amazing seats and had a great time.

Matt was invited by a co-worker of mine to play poker a couple of weeks ago and ended up showing off his poker skills. Thanks to Matt's awesome poker playing skills we had some extra cash to burn so we really stepped up our plant buying.

We bought a magnolia tree.

And a dwarf Alpine spruce. Both the magnolia and the spruce didn't get planted this week because it snowed - crazy enough.

This was Matt's project. The previous owners had some really strange plants so we bought some boxwoods to plant in front of the open space below the deck. In a couple of years it will look really great.

Our rose bushes are starting to show some signs of growth.

And so are our peonies.

Our pear trees have started to bloom as of 2 weeks ago. It was a pleasant surprise since we didn't know what kind of trees we had until they bloomed.
This was a sunset last week.

We've really started to feel like grow-ups this weekend. We had to buy a wheelbarrow, weed whacker, and a lawnmower. I think we are nearing the end of our plant buying partly because money has been flying out of our pockets and partly because there isn't much more room in the backyard!
