What a fun (and exhausting!) birthday weekend we had! My mom came into town on Thursday and Bonnie was instantly a Grandma's girl. She didn't want anyone to help her except Grandma. Grandma even got a refresher course in potty training a toddler! Mostly Grandma and Bonnie read a lot of books.
Bonnie's newest favorite animal is an orangutan. I showed her a video of baby orangutan on YouTube and that was it. Surprisingly there aren't a whole lot of orangutan podcasts or shows. I did find a Go Diego Go! episode that has baby orangutans in it and of course it's a big hit! Because of Bonnie's new found love of orangutans we took her to the zoo on Saturday. It was a gorgeous day and she had a blast. We didn't know it but there was a baby orangutan at the zoo which was a great surprise!
Sunday was the big birthday party at The Little Gym. I spent most of the evening on Saturday and all morning on Sunday making cupcakes for her party. We ended up having 11 kids at the party and they all had a great time.
After all the excitement from her party we decided to take it easy on Monday, her actual birthday. Her big gift from us was a kitchen. She was so excited to play with her kitchen.
Matt was determined to make a fancy cake for Bonnie's birthday this year and I would say he definitely succeeded!
Bonnie loved her monkey cake and wasn't sure if she should pet it, hug it or smash it so she did all three!
