We have officially started potty training. Two weekends ago we spent all weekend at home so we could immerse ourselves in potty training. We bought her a toddler sized potty from Ikea which she thinks is really fun to sit on and have all of her babies sit on too. There are a ton of techniques out there for successful potty training but the one we have decided to go with is the pant-less one. Basically, the child goes without pants or a diaper so that they learn to recognize the urge and make it to the potty so they don't make a huge mess. So far, it's been very successful! The first day she went on the potty 2 times and then on the second day she went 4 times! I found that offering her Dum Dum suckers every time she went potty was a great incentive. She has continued to do well at home over the past two weeks and is even now asking to go sit on the potty when she feels the urge. I'm not so sure school has been as successful but they are working with her to show her the potty and get used to going at school. We are right now focusing on going potty at home every time and then will move on to being out in public. She's such a big girl!
