Bonnie has been going to gymnastics for a couple of months now at The Little Gym and has really been loving it! Today's class was a showcase during which all the kids got to show off all the skills they have learned and then they got a medal for all their hardwork.
Bonnie really loves to do somersaults and walk on the balance beam. Each class they have the kids do two new skills which usually involves the balance beam or uneven bars. Today the kids were challenged to walk 5 steps forward on the balance beam then 5 steps sideways and then 5 steps backwards and to top it all off to stand alone unassisted on the balance beam for 5 seconds. Quite a task for a 2 year old!
Bonnie is so strong and also really likes the uneven bars. Usually the kids are supposed to hold on for 3 seconds and she usually surpasses that.
The medal ceremony was so cute but Bonnie wasn't real sure what was going on. Her teacher commended her for always being willing to try new things and for balancing herself on the balance beam today.
Bonnie loves her medal and has worn it all day. I have a feeling this is the first of many medals she will get in her life!
