Self Medicating with Cereal

Since my iron levels were a little bit on the low side, I've been trying to make a conscious effort to eat more iron rich foods. I even downloaded a list of the foods with the most iron in them. Unfortunately, the list contained a number of foods that are not really fit for anyone to eat, especially pregnant women with lingering morning sickness. Some of my favorites are:

Beet Greens
Prune Juice
Liver
Liverwurst
Tongue
Heart
Kidney
Brains

Assuming that many of the most iron rich foods are out of the question, I searched for another way to introduce iron into my diet. While at the grocery store I was trying to pick out a cereal when I noticed that the majority of kid's cereal has quite a lot of iron in them. I was so excited to discover the Cookie Crisp has 25% of your daily intake of iron. Even better than that are Rice Krispies, which contain a whopping 50% of your daily intake of iron! Who knew?!?!
