Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

Look Whooo's 1!

Bonnie's 1st birthday was on Sunday. I still can't believe she is officially 1 now! To help us celebrate, all the grandparents came into town. Bonnie had a great birthday and especially loved the attention she received. She got her 5th tooth and a little cold to go along with it just in time for her 1st birthday, so she was sneezing and sniffling all weekend.

Here is the birthday girl!

A special birthday breakfast of French toast sticks and strawberries - yummy.
Between us, my mom and Matt's parents, Bonnie had a ton of presents to open so we had to do it in waves. She quickly learned how much fun it is to open presents and play with all her new toys. Bonnie got a lot of new books which she loved and insisted on reading through several of them over and over again. She also got a really cool scooter with a bouncy seat which was really fun to bounce on and have mommy and daddy push around the house.
During her morning nap we set up decorations and made her cake so it was all ready to go once she woke up. I made her this banner with her name spelled out and my mom and I made some Martha Stewart inspired paper flowers. Matt and I made strawberry cupcakes and decorated them like owls. It was really easy to do and so cute. Surprisingly, Bonnie's cake turned out well and I even managed to spell " Happy Birthday Bonnie" correctly the first time!
Bonnie was not feeling her special 1st birthday hat.
And she was a little weary of her cake...at first.
Once she got that first taste of chocolate icing it was all over.
After some serious cleanup and a wardrobe change, it was time for another wave of presents. Matt and I got Bonnie this plush rocking horse which she thought was super cool.
Grandma Linda got Bonnie a CD player which she has been borderline obsessed with since we got it out of the package. She loves dancing to all the songs!
Another favorite was this farmhouse Aunt Sarah got for her. The little animals are the perfect size for little hands and the right texture for chewing on.
In addition to having a great time playing with all her new toys, Bonnie also learned where her nose and ears are. She sticks her finger right up her nose whenever you ask her where her nose is and shoves her finger in her ear whenever you ask where her ear is. Not perfect but at least she understands what she's being asked to do! Grandma Linda also worked with Bonnie on drinking ice water from a cup which she got pretty good at. She's such a big girl!

Bonnie had her 12 month check up yesterday. She has gained some good weight since her last appointment and was at 19 lbs which put her in the 40th percentile. I think she is officially going to be a munchkin because she was only measuring in the 19th percentile for height. No big surprise there! She did end up getting the next round of shots as well as her first chickenpox vaccine. She didn't have a fever last night, just overall cranky. This morning she threw up but still didn't have a fever so I took her to school. I got a call about 10:30 this morning saying that she had a little fever and had thrown up again so I picked her up and took her home. Since being home she has done fine and doesn't seem to have any other side effects. Looks like she isn't quite done with shots either since she's got to go back in a couple of weeks for her first flu shot - oh fun! The doctor also did an initial autism screen and said that Bonnie didn't show any of the early signs, so that was good news.
