18 Months Old

Bonnie went for her 18 month check up yesterday. Her doctor said that she has completely recovered from the bronchiolitis and had no lingering wheezing or other breathing problems, which was great news. Everything else looked good and the doctor said she is progressing normally. She weighed 22 lb 11 oz which put her in the 51st percentile and was 21' 7.25" which puts her in the 35th percentile. She's well on her way to being a certified munchkin! Apparently she has a tiny head too which isn't surprising since mine is small too. Bonnie's doctor talked to us about starting to put Bonnie in timeout for behavioral issues. We hadn't really tried it before but were definitely willing to give it a go, especially if it means that we can correct the biting and hitting. We weren't home 2 hours before Bonnie threw something at me and so to timeout she went. She cried and cried for the whole 2 minutes but didn't get out of her chair. About 10 minutes later she hit me again so into timeout she went again. This time she didn't stay in her chair and screamed the whole 2 minutes. The good news is that she didn't need a timeout at all today but tomorrow is another day!

The Elmo obsession is in full swing. We have to watch Elmo videos on YouTube daily and she loves to dance to Elmo. I found a shirt and pj's with Elmo on them and of course they are now her favorites.

Here's why we need timeouts now.

I noticed 2 top molars that were peaking through last week which was good because a we were starting to think she was only going to have 8 teeth forever! She really likes brushing her teeth and asks to do it several times a day. I guess that's a good thing but a little on the weird side.

Bonnie continues to thrive at school. While she was home sick she asked about her teachers and the other kids in class often. Every time we pick her up she is running around having a great time. She continues to eat well and sleep well at school and at home. But the most important thing is that she is still very silly!
