Summer of Cousins Continued

My sister and her two boys , Connor and Evan, drove from Texas to spend a week with us. The kids had a blast playing together. Wel, really the boys learned to survive Bonnie! The boys are really into Star Wars and Legos so we got to play lightsabers a lot, which actually Bonnie proved to be a natural at.
While eating lunch at Red Robin one day Bonnie decided it would be hilariously fun to try and sit on Connor and Evan's laps. They weren't as amused but Sarah and I thought it was hilarious!
On Monday we drove to Idaho Springs to stay in a cabin I rented there and for a little change of scenery in the mountains. It poured on our way there and when we first got there but eventually cleared up enough that we could take the kids to tour the Argo Gold Mine where they got to tour the inside (hence the hard hats) and then at the end we got to pan for gold. We all ended up finding a few flakes of gold but not nearly enough to pay for anyone's college tuition - better luck next time.
The cabin was absolutely beautiful and in such a secluded but close to town location which was perfect! The Chicago Creek runs right in front of the cabin which made for peaceful and restful nights. I would absolutely stay there again!
On Tuesday we took the kids to Georgetown where we rode a train through the mountains. They were interested for about 30 minutes and then we ordered food which apparently was far more exciting.
The kids were being silly on Tuesday night so I made sure to get plenty of pictures not only to remember them as silly kids but potentially to use as blackmail later on in life!

I'm so glad that Sarah and the boys were able to make the journey to Colorado to visit. We had such a good time! Before they left Connor and Evan kept asking when Bonnie was going to come visit them in Texas so it looks like we have trip to Texas to take in the near future!
