Matt's brother was in town and spent a couple days with us over the Labor Day weekend. We thought it would be fun to take Bonnie on her first fishing experience so we found a kid friendly pond in Idaho Springs. It was a beautiful spot and the weather was perfect. The pond is privately owned and "well stocked" which honestly is an understatement. It was a great place to take kids because they are pretty much guaranteed to catch a fish.
She's all ready to fish!
Watching Daddy put a worm on the hook.
Uncle Ben caught the first fish. Bonnie was really interested in the fish but really didn't want to touch it.
Daddy caught the second fish and Mommy caught the third (and biggest) fish.
Bonnie gave it a try but we didn't put a hook on her line since she was throwing the pole all around! She had fun with it nonetheless.
We ended up with 6 fish at the end of the day. Uncle Ben taught us all how to fillet and cook up the trout. Bonnie didn't like eating the trout but all in all I think she had a great time. We will definitely be visiting that pond again when she's a little older so she can fully appreciate the experience.
