Crazy Week

Last Wednesday my sister Sarah and her daughter Maddi came into town to attend a camp to learn how to manage some of Maddi's medical conditions. Bonnie was so excited to see them and loved running around with Maddi and generally making a huge mess everywhere.
On Thursday Matt and I both received frantic calls from the Montessori school about 11:00am saying that Bonnie fell off of the climber (kind of like a jungle gym) and was crying anytime someone touched her arm, which was swelling up. We both left work immediately and drove to pick her up to take her to urgent care at the Children's Hospital right down the road from the house. By the time we picked her up she had stopped crying but was clearly favoring her left arm. We had pretty much ruled out a major break in her arm but decided to be on the safe side we better take her in. They saw her right away and ordered an X-Ray. I didn't get to go in with her but Matt said she did a great job during the X-Ray holding as still as a 2 year old can. She got to pick out a toy after the X-Ray which she thought was really cool. They X-Ray came back looking great and the doctor seemed to think she just bruised her arm. We were there for about an hour and by the time we left she was climbing on the bed in the room and acting normal, as you can see here with her new sunglasses.

We stopped at Target on the way home so she could pick out a new toy. She picked out an animated horse she named Sparky. On the way home she passed out and kept sleeping even when I moved her in bed. She woke up briefly to eat dinner and then it was right back to sleep. It was a long day for all of us!
We took the girls to the playground on Saturday but didn't stay long because it was ridiculously hot. The girls had fun swinging, sliding, "driving" to Home Depot and just running around.

Sarah and Maddi had a free day on Sunday so we took the girls to the Aquarium in an attempt to beat the heat. We had lunch at the restaurant at the Aquarium which was so cool. They have a huge aquarium set up that we got to sit next to. Right as we were finishing the mermaids swam around the tank which the girls thought was the coolest. Bonnie kept screaming out "Ariel!"

On top of everything else Bonnie picked up a nasty cold which she proceeded to give to the rest of us. Of course, I got it the worst and am still battling it. What is more fun than being 34 weeks pregnant and having a nasty cold??
Today, Bonnie started her transition into her new Primary classroom. We got to pick her new classroom which was a lot of pressure! There really was no wrong choice but I think we made a good choice. Bonnie is so excited to be around some older kids and some of her old buddies from her Toddler room. We are so excited for her as she becomes a big kid at school.
