It has been quite the week! On Monday we went in for a blood pressure check which ended up coming down quite significantly since Friday. While we were there the doctor requested we do another stress test just to be on the safe side. Baby aced its second non stress test. All was fine, right? Nope. I got a call on Wednesday from the doctor's office saying that there were elevated protein levels in my urine and that I needed to come in immediately to get supplies for a 24 hour urine collection. The nurse who called also said that if my protein levels didn't come down that they would be forced into inducing me - NOT what I wanted to hear.
I'll skip over the next 24 hours since it wasn't really a pretty experience. So, that brings us to today's appointment. We went into the appointment demanding answers about my continuous flip-flopping test results. We also were hoping to get some answers about what, if any, our options are. Things started off well with my blood pressure being low and no protein in my urine. Since our doctor had no openings, we met with a new doctor, which ended up being a really great experience. She had the same ideas about induction we have and put to rest a lot of our concerns. We actually left wishing she was our doctor!
To sum all of this up: barring any unfavorable results of the 24 hour urine test, we have been given the go ahead to wait for labor to begin on its own for another week. Let's just hope Baby was paying attention to all of this and starts giving some serious consideration to joining us soon!
