Early Father's Day

Since we are planning a trip next weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday, we decided to celebrate Father's Day this Sunday. I surprised Matt with tickets to the Sky Sox, the AAA minor league baseball team in Colorado Springs. It was a beautiful day for baseball - 78 and sunny with a light breeze.

We actually had seats closer to the field but opted to sit in the bleachers since we could have more room to move around and spread out. It ended up being a good idea since Bonnie insisted on trying to crawl around. She was a little cranky at first and completely unsure about where she was but then passed out in the 5th inning. It was really her first experience at an event like that so all in all she did really good.

The Sky Sox were playing the Sacramento Rivercats, who Manny Ramirez is currently playing for. Apparently he is trying to make a comeback this season and has been playing in the minors. He didn't really do anything special but was the only player to be booed at every plate appearance.

 

Despite our attempts at making sure Bonnie didn't get sunburned, we failed. We brought two hats, which she wore one at all times, and had sunscreen on but I guess the Colorado sun was just too strong this afternoon.
