Botanic Gardens

We've really been enjoying our time off from school and with each other over the past week! Today, we decided to go to the Denver Botanic Gardens since the last time we tried to go it was closed. It wasn't the greatest day to be out wandering around the gardens but luckily it didn't rain...only chilly.

The Gardens has a huge greenhouse that houses plants that could be found in ancient (tropical) Colorado. I wish Colorado still had a tropical part!

Apparently, there is currently a Jurassic Gardens exhibit going on right now so there was dinosaur stuff everywhere.
Most flowers were just in the beginning stages of blooming but we saw some really pretty ones. My favorites were these puffy ones (in white and purple) and of course the peonies, although the peonies still have a couple more weeks before they are in full bloom.

Rows and rows of Iris
A very interesting fountain and the greenhouse.
This garden is called the Scripture Garden because of its supposed collection of plants talked about in the Bible.
Scripture Gardens (notice the Colorado pine trees in the back!)
The Romantic Gardens
It's hard to top Giverny but these gardens were very nice and we look forward to going back during the different seasons to see what's blooming.
