Our House

We bought a house! On Thursday we put in an offer on a house we really liked and our counter to the counter offer was accepted today! It's been a couple of long and anxious days but it ended up working out in the end. Our closing date is scheduled for November 2nd and we should be getting possession of the house on the 5th.

The neighborhood is really the main reason we fell in love with the house. It's about 1 mile from the interstate and 11miles south of the exit we are currently located. We test drove what our commute would be to Denver and it was right at 25min without traffic and 35min with traffic - MUCH better than our current 1hr 15min with traffic commute. The neighborhood is called Vista Ridge and is located on the southern side of Erie. It is a golf course community which is not something we originally wanted but after seeing all the amenities offered we just couldn't pass it up.

Our house! It's a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath with a full garden level basement.

It's on a corner lot so we don't have anyone on one side of us.

Front porch

Right after you enter the house there is a formal living room

and a formal dining room

The kitchen has ceiling level cabinets and we even get to keep all the appliances!

The family room is off of the kitchen. Also downstairs is a half bath and a laundry room.

Upstairs has an open loft area, 4 bedrooms, and 2 full bathrooms. Daisy and Zoe already have their rooms picked out!

Off the kitchen is a deck...

with amazing mountain views! You can also see this view from the kitchen and one of the spare bedrooms. This was definitely a selling point for us!

The backyard isn't huge but it's big enough for us to plant some trees/flowers and for the dogs to run around.

Another selling point for us was the full garden level basement. It's unfinished right now but it has so much potential and in a few years we look forward to finishing it off.

Matt started a "Home Savings" chart. As you can tell we need a lot and having nothing yet. We take donations...hint hint!

This was our celebration dinner after we found out the house was ours. I have a feeling this is going to be a common dinner in the Morrison household for the next few weeks.
